The famous actor Arshad Warsi is a fitness freak. He believes that "Running for 45 minutes everyday is must.I also see to it that I have balanced meals at regular intervals five times a day. Controversies seem to be in no mood to leave Shah Rukh Khan yet. Some construction in SRK’s backyard has created some troubles again. It is believed that the building process had hampered with the peace of a co-establishment.

According to reports, the massive ongoing work in the backyard of Khan’s ‘Mannat’ at Bandra Bandstand has become a problem of sorts for his neighbours. ‘Mannat’ shares a common back wall with ‘Retreat House’, a congregation home for senior Jesuit priests to meditate, introspect and hold programmes for clergy and laity alike.

The site for Retreat House was reportedly chosen because it offered peace and tranquility. But with the construction to build an underground car park going on full swing, the unending ceaseless noise has shattered the peace of the neighbourhood.

Inside reports suggest that four senior priests who had come to stay and meditate at the ‘Retreat House’ walked out, unable to bear the distraction.

On realizing the clergy’s trouble, Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri sent an apology note to the priests for the noise, which read- “The excavation is likely to cause some noise during the week when the work goes on. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and we promise to refrain from the excavation work on Sundays and between 1 pm and 3 pm on weekdays when you may be resting.” However, the priests still chose to send a note of protest to the Khans.

The matter further aggravated when the priests got another notice for permission to allow some construction inside their compound and they have now decided to consult lawyers on the same.

TOP 20 PANTALOON FEMINA MISS INDIA CONTESTANTS UNWIND AT AAFREIN, THE KEBAB SPECIALTY AT HOTEL SAHARA STAR

Mumbai, Wednesday, 1st April 2009: Hotel Sahara Star, the five star deluxe played host to the top 20 Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009 contestants at Aafrein, the kebab specialty during a delightful village themed night.

After hours of training for the upcoming Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2009 pageant, the hospitality partner Hotel Sahara Star ensured that the contestants relaxed and swayed to the impressive quawalis by Mr. Habib Sabri, over a delicious spread of kebabs.

With quawalis playing in the background, what added authenticity to the rustic village theme was the talented street magician who left the girls awestruck with a wide array of magical acts.

Sahara Star made the evening special for the Miss India aspirants by gifting them the rural lac bangles crafted by the bangle maker, specially invited for the occasion. The lovely ladies were floored by the warm gesture. While the contestants were waiting for their bangles to be made, each took turns to sit with the tarot card reader to learn about their future, and definitely their fate at the Femina Miss India 2009 pageant!!

As the night was about to come to an end, the contestants were surprised to find a portrait maker waiting for them, who then meticulously created portraits of the individual contestants, bringing the night to a very memorable end!

Like last year potential candidates residing or born in the south of India, get a chance to participate in the Pantaloons Femina Miss India South 2009. Girls from South India aspiring to compete at the national level could apply to Pantaloons FEMINA Miss India South 2009 (PFMIS2009) which could become their stepping stone to the main pageant. The winner of the south pageant would get a direct entry into the top ten finalists of the Pantaloons Femina Miss India Pageant 2009.

(With Auditions in Kolkata, Patna, Bhubhaneshwar and Guwahati)

Potential candidates residing or born in the east of India, get a chance to participate in the Pantaloons Femina Miss India East 2009. Girls from East India aspiring to compete at the national level could apply to Pantaloons FEMINA Miss India East 2009 (PFMIE2009) which could become their stepping stone to the main pageant. The winner of the east pageant would get a direct entry into the top ten finalists of the Pantaloons Femina Miss India Pageant 2009.

The National Event will be held in Mumbai in April 2009 preceded by Auditions in the cities of Lucknow, Nagpur, Indore, Chandigarh, Pune and Ahmedabad.

Potential candidates who have missed out on PFMIS/PFMIE 2009 and even those not shortlisted in the Auditions can still take a shot at the regionals to be held in Mumbai and New Delhi through the National Call for Entries (CFE) which would be held in January 2009. The shortlisted candidates from the regionals will be the finalists of the main pageant. The finalists will undergo training and grooming sessions during the month of March 2008 to be judged by a panel of eminent personalities in the finale.

Since it began, the Femina Miss India pageant has evolved considerably with the changing face of the Indian woman, global beauty and fashion trends. In the year 2007-2008 we conducted auditions across 12 major cities in India. Over and above we also launched the first ever Miss India South, an exclusive pageant (Exactly On the lines of the Main Pageant) for Southern Part of Indian which was extremely successful.
